Did you know volunteering can count toward PD, int Did you know volunteering can count toward PD, internship, and service hours? Volunteering at camp can count toward a variety of education and human services requirements, while providing hands-on experience supporting neurodivergent youth in an inclusive, strengths-based environment. Hours may be eligible for: ☀️ Professional Development (PD) hours for school district staff (teachers, paraprofessionals, SPED staff, counselors, behavior specialists, administrators) ☀️ Internship, practicum, or fieldwork hours (education, special education, school psychology, social work, counseling, OT, SLP, ABA, recreation therapy, and related programs) ☀️ Community service or service-learning requirements ☀️ Program-specific volunteer or observation hour requirements for colleges, universities, and certification programs Through camp, volunteers gain experience in: 🌱 Supporting autistic and neurodivergent youth 🌱 Implementing behavior supports, co-regulation strategies, and sensory accommodations 🌱 Practicing inclusive, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming care 🌱 Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in real-world settings

After a camp session, we received this sweet refle After a camp session, we received this sweet reflection from a volunteer. 🌱 "Camp Encourage 100% provides a safe place where the kids can explore. I was telling my grandma about how we encourage the campers to try new things like horseback riding, the zipline, and target sports, which campers may have never done before, and she was shocked at all the new opportunities CE provided. I like that at CE walls are really broken down, and accomodations are made for everyone to feel comfortable and to take those day-to-day stressors away, so campers can find genuine friends that they want to keep in touch with, and perhaps even something new about themselves. The impact that CE has on campers is visible, and I hope they take those memories, knowledge and friendships with them." #campencourage #safeplace #explore #accomodations #genuinefriends
