A Report From Our First Mini-Camp

What a wonderful first MINI CAMP we recently had! Thanks to all volunteers (many of which are shown below) and all campers for sharing the beautiful spring weekend with us. It was as if the clouds cleared and the sun warmed just for our campers! The MINI CAMP provided a wonderful time to reconnect with old friends while meeting new. It also gave first-time campers a great introduction to an overnight camp.

Minicamp Volunteers

One of our Kelly’sΒ favorite moments was hearing the campers talk about participating in the trust fall and the human knot. We’reΒ so grateful to Jaime Lyon of Inflated Joy for leading those special group time moments.

Additionally, the MINI CAMP was just the “camp magic” boost we needed as we approach the coming months of planning for summer camp sessions, work to raise scholarship funding during the Camps For Kids matching campaign, and spend the next few months going out into the community to spread the word about Camp Encourage! Huge thanks to all who helped make this first MINI CAMP session possible; we could not do this without the love and support or our community and camp family.

PEER MODEL CAMPERS

We have already received a number of impressive peer model camper applications and slots are filling quickly!

Slots that remain available at this time (as of March 28th, 2017) include older males, between the age of 13 and 18. If you know of someone that would be fitting for the role, please encourage him to apply.

For details about the role of a peer model camper, a description of who should apply, and more, visit THIS HELPFUL PAGE.
