AN EXCITING GROWTH ANNOUNCEMENT!

Camp Encourage is embarking on a HUGE goal for the near future that we’ll need the community’s help with accomplishing.

We’ve grown a lot since that first small summer camp of 36 campers. We added a second summer camp; increased the size of our sessions; added weekend, overnight sessions; added an alumni reunion overnight; and added social opportunities throughout the year outside of the camps.

We know that our most impactful program is that of the four day, three night camps. We know that the waiting list continues to grow a wee bit each year, especially as we continue to focus on building relationships with youth of color with autism and their families; gain an understanding of their unique assets, needs, desires, and challenges; and recruit and support them as program participants.

Thus, our Board of Directors developed our newest Strategic Plan that includes something we are very excited to share.

Before we share, I want to stress that accomplishing this goal will require a 35% increase of employees and volunteers and a roughly 50% increase of annual income. We’ll be increasing our annual budget by at least $250,000 in the coming years.

Your support in the coming years will directly impact local youth on the autism spectrum and will absolutely help our nonprofit accomplish a lofty goal that has proven to be a much needed service in the community. And you’ll be able to see the direct impact of your support as you witness first hand what we are about to share come to fruition.

Without further adieu, we are honored to share that by 2026, Camp Encourage plans to provide an additional four day, three night camp. 

We don’t know what time of year it will occur nor at what campground. But we know it is needed and will be setting our eyes on making it happen.
