Preparations are underway for our 5th annual An Evening With the 'Rents stand-up comedy fundraiser!
We are eagerly preparing for this one-of-a-kind, laughter-filled fundraiser! What makes An Evening With the 'Rents unique is that the comics are all individuals or parents of children with autism who work alongside local comedians to craft their very raw life experiences into hilariously touching stories that promise to encourage and enlighten you.
Whether you have a personal connection to individuals on the autism spectrum or not, An Evening With the 'Rents is so much more than a benefit. An Evening With the 'Rents creates an electric atmosphere where everyone can leave their troubles at the door and experience freedom and community through laughter.

With roughly 500 anticipated guests, An Evening With the 'Rents provides a wonderful opportunity for local businesses to demonstrate to the community that they value the lives of youth with autism (and appreciate the value of a good chuckle).
We send abundant thanks to each sponsor listed above as well as each parent that braves the stage in front of the massive audience to share their stories—sharing the joy and laughter in both the trials and goodness experienced.
We also want to thank Keenan Stump and Matt Braun, Speech Language Pathologists from New Balloon Therapy Services for creating this brilliant event four years ago in support of Camp Encourage. Not only do they have a wonderful sense of humor but their hearts are full of love for those we serve.
Keenan and Matt's dream for An Evening With the 'Rents was for it to be a grassroots event; that those participate pass the torch, providing support and friendship along the way. Though we will miss them on stage this year, we are very excited and tremendously grateful for Lindy Katzer who will be producing, and to Kris Ray and Hope McPheeters, who will be co-managing this year's production. In 2018, we will also be channeling her quick wit and humor from afar, as EWTR alumnus Olivia Cytrynowicz and her family pursue new adventures in Colorado (we can already imagine the laugh-worthy stories that are yet to come from this big change!).

Parking: Plentiful parking is available as noted on the map in the north and south lots located off 38th and McGee Streets.
Arrival and Check In: Doors open at 6:00pm for our cocktail hour and the show will start promptly at 7:00pm. Simply check in with one of our volunteers with your name, or the name of the person who ordered your tickets and you are all set. You will not need to bring a paper ticket. Note that, with the exception of the VIP area, seating is open so plan to arrive early to secure your preferred spot. Light, but yummy snacks from Roots & Fruits Catering and Thēz Nütz will be available as well as an open bar featuring beer from Martin City Brewing Company, wine, and soft drinks.
What to Bring: Most importantly, bring your laughter. And: Please be sure to bring a little cash to take part in our 50/50 raffle. You could go home with half the pot! You might have noticed that the ticket price remained the same as prior years HOWEVER, you will not need to purchase beverages since they are included this year. And, additional (amazing) grub will be available. Thus, please consider donating the cash you would have otherwise used to the meaningful mission of Camp Encourage through the good ol’ 50/50 raffle. Should you not have cash that evening, don’t fret. Raffle tickets can also be purchased with a credit or debit card (but may not be as speedy as using cash).
