OH DEAR… LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS!
We’ve had a few unexpected counselor cancellations for the upcoming camp session scheduled for June 13-16. A HUGE note of thanks to those that have been helping to spread the word on social media! Please, please, PLEASE keep it up! Help us spread the word to secure needed volunteers! Our Counselor in Training roles are all filled thus, we are seeking those 18 and older for the June camp session. Other volunteer roles that may be fitting for those of any age are listed below.
For those that have volunteered before, you know how much it positively impacts your life. For those that haven’t volunteered, a life changing experience awaits you!
PS We’re not worried–as we always say, our campers attract the most amazing humans. So, let’s do this! Let’s fill the volunteer slots with amazing humans!
OTHER (BRIEF) VOLUNTEER ROLES…
Perhaps you’re not able to devote the four days this time but you’re game for supporting in a much shorter role? Super! The below opportunities still remain open!
ACTIVITY FACILITATOR
An Activity Facilitator facilitates a variety of activities (with another volunteer or other volunteers). Although most of our activities are already covered for the upcoming camp session, there are a few times that we could use additional support.
- Tuesday, June 13 from 12:15 to 4:30pm: outdoor water activities (slip n slide and inflatable water slide)
- Wednesday, June 14 from 8:15am to noon: duct tape art
- Wednesday, June 14 from 8:15am to noon: karaoke
- Wednesday, June 14 from 12:15 to 3:30pm: tie dying camp tees
- Wednesday, June 14 from 12:15 to 4:30pm: duct tape art
- Wednesday, June 14 from 12:15 to 4:30pm: karaoke
- Wednesday, June 14 from 7:00 to 8:45pm: build and start campfires, oversee s’mores at the fire ring, and enjoy a s’more

CARNIVAL
On the first evening of each summer session, we hold a carnival for the campers. Activities include a variety of activities at booths with prizes, balloon art, and more. Volunteers will be guided to set up the carnival and to fully prepare for the campers. All needed materials as well as an instruction sheet for each activity will be provided. This is a great opportunity for groups (friends, family, service groups, etc.).

ASSISTING WITH THE CAMPER CHECK-IN PROCESS
This may involve assisting parents in the completion of forms, serving as a greeter, directing traffic, and/or accepting alternative foods due to dietary restrictions or preferences.

TRANSPORTING SUPPLIES TO AND/OR FROM CAMPGROUNDS
A group gathers together to unload and distribute our supplies to locations on the campgrounds or loads and packs our supplies, ready to return to our office in Kansas City.
- Monday, June 12 at 2:00 to 5:00pm: Assist with unloading and distributing camp supplies at our campgrounds in Parkville, MO
- Friday, June 16 at 8:30am to noon: Assist with loading supplies at our campgrounds in Parkville, MO
