I find snowflakes utterly amazing. The complexity of how each each takes shape fascinates me. And, through that detailed process, each and every snow crystal is singularly matchless. It seems impossible and yet, scientific research continues to confirm this wonder.
At Camp Encourage, we support and love individuals on the autism spectrum. Though they share commonalities, each is, without a doubt, unique. Singularly matchless.
Each camper has their own needs, preferences, strengths, dreams, desires, and stories. We see each as an individual wonder and are grateful their stories include Camp Encourage.
Our nonprofit provides an unmatched, life changing experience. It is a like-no-other, snowflake-like experience. I could give you a bulleted list of what makes Camp Encourage unique but rather than hearing it from me, I’m sharing a small sampling of feedback from parents of our 2024 campers:
“The genuine feeling of love and acceptance truly permeated the volunteers and staff members from the very first time we met to departure.”
“The attention to details blew me away as a parent!”
“I like that there are such a variety of activities. The campers have choices which is very helpful.”
“I appreciate that the camp organizes ways to allow campers to stay connected after camp."
It’s hard for my kiddo to feel like he belongs anywhere, precisely as he is, and Camp Encourage gives him that safe space to be exactly who he is."
“I enjoyed seeing the autistic adults on staff.”
“They always think outside the box and make everyone feel comfortable.”
“Always putting the needs of campers at the forefront of every decision.”
“It’s a place where my child can go to feel welcomed and seen.”
Whenever my kiddo gets down about no one understanding him, he remembers Camp Encourage and his mood instantly changes. Thank you for that."
This beautiful feedback could not happen without you. Support from every volunteer and every donor through the years has unequivocally allowed this grassroots nonprofit to thrive and grow. The support has gifted each camper the opportunity to feel worthy. And what a gift it is to remind someone they are singularly matchless.
Having you cheer for our autistic campers, believe in their abilities, and fully support our meaningful mission is truly a gift. Thank you for joining me, our Board of Directors, each staff member, every volunteer, and each camper and family in fueling this Kansas City goodness. Together, we are mighty.
