We sincerely thank you for applying to serve as a volunteer at Camp Encourage and are delighted that YOU will be joining us at your upcoming session (or sessions!)! It is so appreciated and very admirable that you are giving your time and heart to the special campers at Camp Encourage! We have many eager campers preparing for camp with HUGE thanks to you!
Below, you will find informative details to help you prepare for your volunteer role.
STEP ONE:
VOLUNTEER INFORMATION PACKET
Please download and read through this packet in its entirety in advance. You'll find crucial details about orientation, directions, arrival and departure times, expectations, a list of suggested items to bring to camp, and more.
STEP TWO:
PROVIDE A FEW MORE DETAILS
Required: Please click on the below button to take you to a mandatory form that will provide us with information regarding which orientation you will attend AND will provide electronic signatures regarding policies, permissions, and more.
STEP THREE:
RETURN TO CAMPBRAIN
Please return to our online registration system HERE and complete a STAFF MEDICAL FORM (whether you take medications or not). Additionally, please upload to your online account a recent PHOTO of your fine self and if applicable, copies of CERTIFICATIONS (i.e. First Aid, CPR, or Behavioral Intervention Training Certification. STEP FOUR:
CONNECT THROUGH AVA CAMP CONNECT
For security, privacy, and efficiency, we will use a communication platform as our primary method of communicating information to volunteers during camp. It will be essential that you set up an account. The platform will enable you to access photos and receive communication from Camp Encourage. Should you not download the app, you may miss updates and will not have access to photos.
When setting up your account, your user name will be "encourage_firstinitial + full last name." For example, Jane Doe would enter "encourage_jdoe."

MARK YOUR CALENDAR
Please be sure to add the camp date or dates to your calendar. Additionally, an orientation is planned to answer any questions you may have and to provide you with information regarding your role, camp activities, and camper expectations. This meeting will also be an excellent opportunity to get to know the other volunteers that will be working beside you along with gathering information regarding the campers you'll be serving. As we get closer to each date, you will be sent a reminder notice by email that will provide you with detailed information – parking suggestions, the exact meeting location on the campgrounds, the Zoom link (if applicable), and any other crucial details.
For now, please be sure to mark your calendar for the date or dates that pertain to you, your role, and the camp session. For clarity, read the Volunteer Orientation section of the Informational Packet (linked above in Step 1) or email Aimee (agorrow@campencourage.org) to confirm.
Be sure to also add the VOLUNTEER GATHERING opportunities to your calendars. Each is a wonderful opportunity to stay connected and also to invite other potential volunteers to join you!

TWO CASH INCENTIVES FOR CURRENT VOLUNTEERS
We need your support in spreading the word to secure quality volunteers! Should you know of anyone that might like to join our camp family this year, please encourage them to apply today! In return, we will be issuing incentives to current (not new) volunteers who recruit full-time volunteers for our camp sessions. In addition to this cash incentive, full time summer volunteers that apply by February 22nd will receive a $100 cash incentive as well as it helps us immensely in planning for our campers.
